At Conwy’s waterfront, next to Conwy Castle, Conwy Mussel Museum is full of brilliant history and stories. Exploring the town’s heritage and traditions, Conwy’s relationship with the river and its mussels goes back to the Romans. Learn how traditional fishing methods are still used to this day.

Go behind the scenes and view the mussel harvesting process. Learn the history of the mussel industry in Conwy and the town’s pearl fishing heritage. Also, find out about the Conwy pearl that made up a Royal crown.

The museum is open from Easter to September 1st. Entry is free of charge. You can contact Conwy Mussel Museum by calling 01492 592689.

Don't forget to stop off at the shop and pick up some lovely seafood. Conwy Quay is the ideal place to enjoy the fruits of the river.
