The North Wales Way
The North Wales Way follows the old trading route along our northern coast into Anglesey. Quite apart from the seaside towns like Llandudno, and the whopping castles like Conwy, Caernarfon and Gwrych that line the 75-mile (120km) trail, it’s also the jumping-off point for journeys of discovery into the rural hinterland. And the perfect place to enjoy an autumn/winter break whether you’re a fabulous foodie, an outdoor adventurer or a culture vulture.
Adventure off the North Wales Way
There are plenty of loops and diversions off the main route too. From here you can explore the mountains of Snowdonia, the Menai Strait, and our largest island, Anglesey. It’s the gateway to the stunning Conwy Valley with its wealth of attractions, and the Vale of Clwyd, where a string of handsome market towns line the route down to Llangollen. The North Wales Way also links easily with its sister Ways, public transport, and long-distance cycling and walking routes.
The route highlights some of the best experiences that are available on and around the North Wales Way.
Llandudno, our largest seaside resort, has a wealth of well-preserved features, including Wales’ longest pier. Llandudno's many attractions include MOSTYN a cutting-edge contemporary art gallery and Venue Cymru, North Wales’ leading entertainment complex. And for an outdoor adventure head to the Great Orme with its walking trails and Snowsports Centre.
Mighty Conwy Castle is one of Europe’s most fabulous fortresses. After a morning exploring its turrets and towers, you’ll be ready to experience some local food and drink. We have award-winning restaurants, breweries and a vineyard within easy reach. And Penderyn whisky distillery which offers tours and masterclasses, has recently opened in Llandudno.
