About

The Alwen Reservoir is a lake which spans over 900 acres, making it is the largest manmade lake in Wales. There is a path around the lake which is ideal for cycling, walking or horse riding. There is also a water-skiing centre.

The Alwen Trail is a 7.5 mile forestry track and path which you can follow along the water’s edge. This leads up to Mynydd Hiraethog. You can get fishing permits and find more facilities at the Llyn Brenig Visitor Centre.
