About

LLENWI is a destination signage project with a difference, using poetry, signwriting and augmented reality (AR).

We are on a mission to share the stories and memories gathered from over 250 members of the public, big or small, alongside forgotten local histories to drill into the essence of each town from the people who know it most.

Bringing together Livi Wilmore’s digital AR world and Tomos Jones’ beautiful, traditional signwriting to create landmark art installations in Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Llandudno and Llanrwst, which are brought to life when scanned with a smartphone showcasing stories from the community.

We’ve commissioned contemporary poet Rhys Trimble to create new works based on what participants shared about the towns gathered through 15 workshops on sign painting, 3D sculpting and poetry, as well as free activity packs and community outreach on social media and beyond.

Check out each piece and then come back here to learn more about how it came to be!

You can download the map from our website or pick up a copy for your local library or tourist information centre.
