Indoor and outdoor centres
The former lifeboat station in Llandudno has recently been transformed to become the new Boathouse Climbing Centre. Complete with bouldering areas, towers, leap of faith and abseiling facilities, the new centre caters for all abilities aged between 3 years old and 70 plus. As one of Llandudno’s fantastic indoor attractions, climbers can enjoy a variety of activities whatever the weather.
If you prefer to enjoy the great outdoors, head to Plas Y Brenin National Outdoor Centre in Betws-y-Coed. The centre has been providing holidays, courses and expeditions for over 60 years and they offer a range of challenges to suit all abilities. From climbing walls, to advanced scrambling courses and even instructor courses, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
For the best of both indoor and outdoor climbing, head to Adventure Parc Snowdonia in Dolgarrog. Their new Adrenaline Indoors facility features ten clip and climb routes along with a stairway to heaven and leap of faith. They also have excellent 12 metre outdoor climbing walls with various routes depending on your ability.
