About
Paysanne opened in 1988 by Bob & Barbara Ross, a pair of Francophiles specialising in French style country cooking. Over 20 years, they built a loyal fan base of diners who repeatedly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, good humour and bonhomie, and a bespoke wine list sourced personally by Bob from vineyards across France.
Their son Cai took over the reins in 2013. In 2015 David Hughes, the chef at Paysanne, joined Cai in running the business. The simple ideals that gave rise to Paysanne in 1988 remain the same today: fresh, locally sourced food, lovingly prepared, simply presented in a relaxed, jazzy and playful ambience.
