About
We are inviting members of the community to help shape a bold new participatory performance work, I Remember Myself / At Gorff, which will tour to Mostyn and other galleries across Wales this year. We would love for you to be part of this process.
What does your body remember that your mind has forgotten?
How might physical sensations unlock your own unique and personal ‘museum of memories’?
These workshops invite you to explore — and help further develop — ways of uncovering long-forgotten memories while gaining new perspectives on more recent ones. Through simple movement exercises, writing tasks, and open discussion, we’ll share stories together in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
We want to meet a range of ages, abilities, backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and identities in these workshops— the broader the range of life experiences, the richer the work becomes.
This project has been developed over several years with a wide range of dance artists and communities, through an ever-evolving process. The version touring to Mostyn this May will feature a richly diverse company of dancers, including people who are D/deaf, Queer, older, younger, Welsh, European — and many things in between and inspired by local voices too.
The workshop will be led by choreographer Gwyn Emberton, with Assistant Director Eli Williams.
