About

Go Below is an award-winning, family-owned business offering authentic underground adventures, whatever the weather.

Experience exciting half and full day underground trips through abandoned mines located in the heart of Snowdonia. We have 3 unique adventures ranging in difficulty and thrill level. No experience necessary, no potholing or squeezing through small gaps.

Our Go Below Challenge trip (10+) is a 5-hour experience, journeying through a fascinating subterranean environment. You will encounter ancient artefacts, boat across forgotten deep blue lakes, climb rock faces, and abseil off ledges with the help of our highly experienced guides.

For those wanting to push themselves further, our Hero Xtreme trip (14+) is 6 hours of exploring the largest and deepest slate mine in the world! Test your physical and mental ability whilst navigating through exhilarating traverses, bridges and zip-lines, with a chance to take a break on our Xtreme picnic bench, which hangs off a huge cliff face!

For the optimum bucket-list adventure, push yourself to the limit on our 7-hour Ultimate Xtreme trip (18+). Whether you’re a regular adrenaline junkie or want to brave it and overcome your fears, our Ultimate Xtreme trip is a world class unique underground adventure featuring challenging climbs including the 'corkscrew', multiple zip-lines, the world’s only underground free fall and the world’s longest and deepest underground zip ride: 'Goliath’.

Fancy staying overnight in the bottom of a mine? Then our newest experience "Deep Sleep" is for you. Set a staggering 1,375 vertical feet below the mountains of Eryri, it's the deepest underground sleep on the planet...by far. Cosy up in one of our wooden cabins or treat yourself to a stay in our Grotto carved out of the slate chamber. This is one night away you'll never forget.

All our trips are personally led by experienced and passionate guides, who will keep you safe while encouraging you to embrace your thrill-seeking side. Our trip leaders will also show you a glimpse of the slate mine industry and its history through the historic artefacts which can be seen along the way in this untouched authentic environment.
