Conwy is bustling with enchanting Christmas events from festive markets to late night shopping and parades, offering locals and visitors a magical holiday experience right in the heart of North Wales.

Shopping locally for Christmas presents is a fantastic idea! Supporting local businesses not only contributes to the community's economy but also often leads to unique and personalized gifts.

In the run up to Christmas Conwy, comes alive with an array of local independent shops selling  traditional Welsh crafts, specialty food and drink, artisanal products ,and boutiques and markets  offering a diverse range of unique gifts and locally sourced delights.

Many shops across Conwy’s towns will extend their opening hours during the holiday season, allowing shoppers more flexibility in finding the perfect gifts.

Here is our round up of the Christmas shopping and events happening in Conwy:

Colwyn Bay

Late night shopping every Thursday between 23rd November and 21st December  5pm to 8pm

Winter Artisan Markets – 18th November and 9th December – 10am to  4 pm

Llandudno and Craig Y Don

Late Night Shopping Week – 13th to 16th December (Wednesday to Saturday) with many shops open until 8pm.   Follow the Christmas Trail which will take you on a journey of local businesses and take in their array of Christmas displays.

Christmas Parade  - 2nd December from 4pm. Line the streets of Llandudno to see a spectacular display of lights and music and wave at Father Christmas.

Craig y Don village will be joining Llandudno for their late night shopping period on 13th December to 16th December.

Just a short distance from the main strip of Llandudno. Craig y Don has many gift and craft shops, a florist, indulgent eateries and more.

Abergele

Abergele Snowman Trail and Late Night Shopping  - Dec 9th

During the day between 10.30am and 2.30pm follow a Snowman’s trail around local businesses with the family and discover lots of unique gifts, but also enjoy some late night trading with many businesses open late.

Did you know that Visit Conwy has their own online shop with a selection of Welsh gifts including Welsh lovespoons, jewellery, souvenirs and delicious Welsh food and drink. You can also find all their products at Tourist Information Centres in Llandudno and Conwy. Visit the shop

Old Colwyn

2nd December  - Old Colwyn Christmas Fair

Sure to give you that 'festive feeling' the fair will feature Father Christmas, stalls, music and lots more. An event for the whole family.

Betws-y-Coed

2nd and 3rd December  - Snowdonia & Local Christmas Market

10am to 4pm.

Featuring artisan makers and producers from Eryri and area. Meet the picklers, brewers, bakers, potters, jewellers, recyclers, printers, photographers, scribers, butchers, distillers, knitters, sewers, gem-setters, woodworkers, painters, bee-keepers, star-gazers, lotion and potion creators, jammers and cake makers.

Pensychnant Christmas Fayre

Saturday 2nd  December & Saturday 9th December, 10-4pm.

Pensychnant is a special place to start your Christmas festivities. Various craft stalls: pottery, wood-turning, embroidery, Swedish logs, jams & chutneys, macramé, paper-crafts, paintings, jewellery & wind-chimes, bird boxes, photography, books, cards and more. An opportunity to find unusual and special gifts for Christmas; and all proceeds go to nature conservation at Pensychnant

Conwy Winterfest – 9th December

Conwy Winterfest is an exciting event organised by local business owners in the town of Conwy. With street entertainers, musicians, choirs, Clerical Error Morris Dancers, sword fighting on Lancaster Square, hot chestnuts and much more. Torch lit procession with Armoured Knights and their Ladies at 5.45pm.

Christmas Eve in Conwy - 24th December

Christmas eve in Conwy county is not the same without a visit to Conwy to sing carols at Lancaster square, see father Christmas at the castle turrets and watch some fantastic fireworks. (Weather permitting)
Starts from 5.45 at Lancaster Square, Fireworks at 7pm by the Castle.
